ROYAT TRAIL TOUR

Starting from the thermal town of Royat, runners embark on an adventure through the heart of Auvergne's volcanic landscape. The longest route winds its way along numerous forest trails and traverses rugged terrain within the Chaîne des Puys, offering stunning views over emblematic UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Limagne Fault.
Throughout the course, participants will enjoy breathtaking vistas of Royat, Clermont-Ferrand, the Puy de Dôme, and surrounding volcanic hills. The 42-kilometer trail alternates between smooth stretches, technical singletrack paths, and panoramic ridge sections, providing a comprehensive immersion into one of the most picturesque areas for trail running in the greater Clermont-Ferrand region.
This challenging route is both wild and spectacular, showcasing the natural beauty and geological richness that defines Royat's territory. The 13-kilometer and 27-kilometer routes incorporate segments from the longer course, offering runners of all levels a taste of this unique terrain.
