RT66 Road Race

The RT66 Road Race returns to Amarillo on Saturday, June 13th, part of the Texas Route 66 Centennial Festival Finale marking a century since the Mother Road was established. The race starts at 920 SW 7th Ave and runs through downtown, offering participants a historic route along portions of old Route 66.
The setting on race morning is bustling with anticipation as runners gather for pre-race activities. Parking spots fill up quickly near the start line in the heart of Amarillo's commercial district, surrounded by local businesses and shops. The atmosphere is electric with vendors selling water bottles and energy gels, while others offer last-minute tips to competitors.
The RT66 Road Race has a rich history, celebrating its third year this June 13th, 2026. It continues the tradition of supporting Transformation Park—a local nonprofit dedicated to providing housing and essential services for those in need within Amarillo. The race layout includes multiple start times: the 1-Mile Race at 7:30 AM, followed by the 5K starting exactly fifteen minutes later and concluding with a 10K event.

The course features an elevation change of only slight inclines throughout, ensuring that runners can focus on their pace without worrying about significant climbs or descents.

The VIP After Party begins promptly at 9:00 AM, offering live music, vendors, food, and drinks to celebrate this historic event.
