About the Event

Join fellow RTC members as we celebrate Labor Day on September 7 wtth a Swim Bike Social Event at Robious Landing Park!

The fun will begin at 8:00 AM with a supported river swim, followed by an out & back (no drop) ride at 9:05 am, then returning to the Park for food (around 10:00 am).  This year, the post-ride food will be provided by the Club, so **BE SURE TO RSVP**

We need you to register for the Social so that we can order food/drinks accordingly.  This event is open to you and your family, so a head count is very important!

** PLEASE REMEMBER TO SELECT "COMPLETE REGISTRATION" IN ORDER TO SUBMIT YOUR REGISTRATION.   YOU WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL, IF YOU DON'T, PLEASE RESUBMIT.  WE NEED TO HAVE AN ACCURATE HEAD COUNT FOR OUR WATER SAFETY CREW.  THANKS! **

1.  Registration is for all active members ONLY and can bring 1 guest.   If you have not renewed your membership please go to https://www.richmondtriclub.com/join-or-renew memberships will be verified.

2.  Every swimmer is required to sign the 2026 Waiver online

3.  Every swimmer needs to SIGN-IN to the log book and list emergency contact person’s name and phone number.

4.  7:55 am Safety briefing/announcements - all must be present

5.  Swim Safety Buoys are required by ALL swimmers.  They can be purchased online at Amazon.  We have a limited number of Swim Safety Buoys and are first come first served.  No Buoy = No Swim

6.  Bright swim caps must be worn by all swimmers.  We will have a limited number available in case you forget to bring one as well as our RTC brand for sale.

7.  After the swimmer returns, they must SIGN OUT of the log book.  The Race Directors will call the emergency contact if the swimmer does not log themselves out.

8.  All participants (swimmers and volunteers) are encouraged to sign up for Rained Out text notifications https://www.rainedout.net/team_page.php?a=7a1a66c9d13367fce645

9. Please consider giving back to our program by volunteering at least monthly either by signing up to kayak, SUP, or as a swim angel! We also have a volunteer reward program called RTC TRISTARS. Read more about it here: RTC TRISTARS.  You are also welcome to sign up a volunteer kayaker in your place.  Must be 18 years or older and comfortable kayaking with swimmers holding on to front and back of the kayak.  RTC provides kayaks, paddles, PFD's and a lifeguard tube.

* We recommend getting there early, by no later than 7:50 am so that you get your swim buoy/wet suit set up, swim cap, etc. *

** We need 4 Volunteer Kayakers and 2 SUP's -- must be at least 18 years of age.  All will be provided with PFD's (personal flotation devices).  Must be comfortable having someone hold on to the kayak/SUP front or backside.  RTC membership not required but encouraged.  Waiver form completion required.

BIKE RIDE:

Bike - Wheels rolling at 9:05 am the ride will leave the parking lot. This is a casual ride (no drop).  There will be a sweeper rider at the end of the last group.

* This is not a car supported ride (bring your hydration, spare tube and CO2 cartridge, as well as any other tools) and your cell phone. *

The 18.8 mile bike is on rural roads heading west toward 288 and Powhatan. Riders will make a left hand turn on Manakintown Ferry Rd. after the church. This very nice and lowly populated road has 2 gradual climbs. The hill climb on Manakintown is substantial (3 percent and is just under 1.7 miles in length. The elevation change is approximately 194 ft) and you will need to train for it or walk it. The midway point on the ride is a U-turn just before Page Rd. You fly back down then make a right turn back onto Robious Rd (Huguenot trail) and back to Robious Landing Park.
