About the Event

Honor the legacy of Corporal Jarek Burke with us as we come together to remember his service and celebrate his life through meaningful ruck marches, runs, and walks. Your participation is based on a free-will donation that directly supports Howard County Veteran Affairs and their local veteran programs.
The event offers various distances for all participants: a 10-mile ruck march starting at noon, followed by a 5-mile walk or run beginning at 1 p.m., and rounding out with a one-mile walk at 2 p.m. Each activity begins and ends at the American Legion located at 113 S. Park Place in Cresco.
After the walks and runs conclude, join us for a social hour at Pub No. 7 on North Elm Street from 3 to 5 p.m., where you can mingle with fellow participants and volunteers while enjoying some refreshments.
Registration is available both online through Active.com (subject to applicable registration fees) or in person on the day of the event at the American Legion starting at noon. If you prefer, donations may also be mailed directly to Howard County Veteran Affairs at 205 Second Street East, Cresco, IA 52136.
Your contribution will not only help us pay tribute to Corporal Jarek Burke but also support local veterans in need through the programs and projects managed by Howard County Veteran Affairs. We look forward to seeing you there as we come together to honor a hero and make a difference in our community.
