Rumble in the Jungle 5k Run/Walk/Fun Run

Rumble in the Jungle 5k Run/Walk/Fun Run returns to Woodside, Delaware on August 23rd, 2026. The race offers a 5K for adults and a Kids Fun Run for younger runners.
Race morning begins under a canopy of trees at Brandywine Park, where participants will find the course winding through greenery and along tree-lined streets. Expect a family-friendly atmosphere with plenty of space to spread out as you warm up or take in some last-minute views before starting your run. Dogs are welcome on leashes, adding an extra layer of community spirit.
Rumble in the Jungle has been running for several years now, supporting Polytech Cross Country student athletes through their fundraising efforts. In 2015 and beyond, it has grown to attract a steady number of participants each year, bringing together runners and walkers from across Woodside and surrounding areas.
The course venue is Brandywine Park with its hard and dry surface suitable for all levels. The route will take you on a journey through the park's trails before heading towards Main Street where there are notable landmarks like the historic Woodside Library and the bustling Farmer’s Market, now closed but still visible from your running path.
At 7 AM, as race participants line up at the start/finish area in Brandywine Park, they will be greeted by a comfortable temperature of around 23.7°C with a slight breeze making it feel just right for an early morning run. The humidity levels are moderate at 72.8%, ensuring that there isn't too much moisture to slow you down.
The race course itself is a loop starting and finishing in Brandywine Park, offering several elevation changes but generally staying on flat terrain with minor inclines providing a good mix of pace challenges. Aid stations will be strategically placed throughout the route for hydration needs, though this year’s exact locations are still being finalized.
