Experience the thrill of running along Dorney Lake, the picturesque venue that hosted rowing events during the London 2012 Olympics. Situated near the charming village of Dorney in Buckinghamshire, this purpose-built lake offers an ideal setting for runners looking to challenge themselves on a flat and scenic course.
Choose from three distances: a 5k sprint, a 10k journey, or a Half Marathon. All races start at 9:10 am, providing participants with the perfect opportunity to set personal bests thanks to the chip-timed system in place. The terrain is entirely road-based, making it easy for runners of all levels to focus on their pace and performance.
For those tackling the Half Marathon distance, enjoy four laps around Dorney Lake, each lap featuring a U-turn at the midway point. This 27-meter elevation gain offers minimal challenge but plenty of scenic views as you circle the lake multiple times. The 10k route includes two complete circuits with just 15 meters in total elevation change, while the shorter 5k distance is one full loop around Dorney Lake with only an 8-meter climb.
The serene and flat course at Dorney Lake provides a unique blend of athletic challenge and natural beauty, making it a memorable experience for runners looking to push their limits or simply enjoy a scenic run.
