Run for MI Life Fun Run Mackay is an annual tribute to Matthew Ivory, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend who passed away on October 19, 2012. Matt was known for his warm heart and infectious laughter, leaving behind family and friends deeply affected by his loss. Since its inception in 2014, the Run For MI Life has grown into a community event held across multiple locations, drawing thousands of participants each year. The proceeds from this run are dedicated to breaking down stigmas surrounding mental health issues like depression and suicide within the Mackay region. To date, the initiative has raised nearly $500,000 for local programs aimed at promoting good mental health and wellness. The event is more than just a race; it's an opportunity for individuals from all walks of life to come together in support of one another’s well-being.
