Join the community for the sixth annual Run for Palestine (RfP) – Winnipeg, a heartwarming charity run and walk that brings people together to support vital humanitarian aid projects in Palestine. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Assiniboine Park's Nature’s Playground Parking Lot at 55 Pavilion Crescent, this event offers participants two engaging options: a leisurely 1 km stroll or an invigorating 5 km jog along certified routes. This year, organizers are aiming to raise $40,000—up from last year's impressive total of $18,000. All proceeds will be channeled through Islamic Relief Canada to provide critical support such as emergency food and healthcare services in Gaza, sponsorship for orphans in dire need, and essential supplies like clean water, shelter, and psychosocial care. Local partner organizations including Beit Lahia Development Association, Gaza Culture and Development Group, Unlimited Friends Association for Social Development, and Bayader for Environment and Development will also benefit from the funds raised. Participants can contribute by sponsoring an orphan at just $90 per month or making a direct donation to further these crucial initiatives. Registration opens bright and early on Sunday, September 20th, with check-in starting at 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM sharp for both runners and walkers alike. The run kicks off promptly at 9:00 AM, followed by entertainment that begins around 11:00 AM. In addition to the race itself, attendees will enjoy a vibrant bazaar filled with local vendors selling crafts and food stalls offering delicious treats. Families can look forward to engaging activities designed for all ages. Each participant receives an exclusive RfP jersey along with a limited edition medal upon completion of their chosen distance. While admission includes these memorable keepsakes, meals are available at additional cost. For those interested in sponsoring or becoming vendors, the organizers welcome your support through email contact at winnipeg@runforpalestine.com. Stay updated and connected via Facebook (Palestinian.of.Manitoba) and Instagram (@runforpalestine.winnipeg). This event promises to be a day filled with community spirit, meaningful contributions, and unforgettable experiences for all who attend. All ticket sales are final; no refunds will be provided.
