Run for the Son-Faithful 5k & 10k

On Saturday, September 26th, Brainerd Catholic invites runners and walkers to join its second annual Run for the Son: Faithful 5k and 10k at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Brainerd, Minnesota. This event is designed to bring together a community of faith through running on scenic trails within Buffalo Hills Park.
The races kick off with registration starting at 7:00 am until 7:45 am for those who haven't pre-registered. Packet pickup will be available from 7:00 am to 8:15 am exclusively for pre-registered participants. The race day starts promptly at 8:30 am with the 10k run, followed closely by the 5k run beginning just five minutes later.
Participants who register before September 13th will receive a guaranteed Tultex heather mint shirt in either cotton or technical fabric depending on their distance. For those aged three to ten years old, there's also the youth Disciple Dash, which features multiple heats based on age groups and takes place at 9:15 am.
The race course winds through Buffalo Hills Park trails offering runners a mix of terrain that includes gentle hills and flat stretches. The event promises scenic views and an atmosphere filled with community spirit as participants connect over shared faith values.
Awards will be given to overall male and female winners in both the 5k and 10k categories, along with age group awards for the 5k race starting from ages 15 through adult divisions. All finishers receive a medal while youth dash participants are awarded ribbons.
Post-race refreshments include granola bars, bananas, and water provided by local Knights of Columbus members. Additional beverages like Bubblr and Gatorade will be available for purchase to support St. Francis of the Lakes Catholic School.
Parking is conveniently located in the main lot at St. Andrew's Church with instructions to avoid parking on Willow Street near the race course. Water stations are strategically placed along both routes, ensuring hydration throughout each event.
Race day concludes around 9:30 am when awards will be presented to all winners and participants can enjoy camaraderie while snapping photos against a backdrop set up for memorable moments.
