RUN FOR US, part of the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival, invites runners and walkers to participate in its Annual 5K Run-Walk for Health & Wellness on Sunday, February 7, 2027 at Al Lopez Park. This event celebrates community health and cultural heritage through a scenic route that winds around the park's lush landscapes. The race begins promptly at 8AM, offering participants an early morning opportunity to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Al Lopez Park. The course is designed for all fitness levels, with its flat terrain making it accessible for runners, joggers, and walkers alike. Families are encouraged to join as kids aged 11 and under can participate for free. Participants will have a chance to experience the rich cultural heritage that Tampa Bay has to offer while promoting physical well-being. The event aims to foster community spirit through its inclusive approach, welcoming athletes of all backgrounds. Registration includes complimentary race day refreshments and access to pre-race warm-up activities led by local fitness instructors. Race organizers recommend registering early as t-shirt sizes may vary and sell out quickly before the January 15th deadline. After this date, there is no guarantee that participants will receive a shirt or their preferred size.
