About the Event

On Saturday, October 10th, 2026, Morgantown Running invites runners to participate in a heartwarming community event: a scenic and straightforward out-and-back 5K race along the paved rail trail. This race replaces the annual iRun to Remember 5K and aims to raise funds for Wes Nugent's medical expenses following his life-altering bicycle accident on February 9, 2024.
The course is designed with simplicity in mind, taking participants out towards Core Arboretum along a flat and smooth trail. Runners will travel approximately 1.5 miles before turning back to the finish line at Morgantown Running's location. The race offers an ideal environment for all levels of runners, from beginners looking for their first 5K experience to seasoned athletes seeking a quick run.
Participants can look forward to receiving a t-shirt upon registration as long as they sign up early enough; the first 70 registrants will be guaranteed one (including kids). In addition, top male and female finishers in the race will receive special prizes.
To support those who cannot attend but wish to contribute, online donations are available through PayPal at . Please note that this link is for donating only and does not register you for the event.
Race day registration begins in-store with cash or check payments during regular business hours. Packet pick-up will be held on race morning from 7:30 am to 8:30 am, allowing participants ample time before the start of the run at 9:00 am sharp.
Parking is available in the Seneca Center parking lot near Morgantown Running's location; however, runners are asked not to park under the Seneca Village Apartments as these spaces are reserved for residents only.
Join us on October 10th and contribute to a meaningful cause while enjoying a beautiful run through your community.
Participants should be aware that dogs are not permitted during this event.
