About the Event

Run Mawnan invites runners of all ages to explore the charming Cornish village of Mawnan Smith and its picturesque surroundings. Participants will start and finish at Carwinion Playing Field, passing through historic landmarks like the Red Lion Pub as they weave along scenic coastal roads.
The 5k route offers a delightful loop around the village and Trebah Gardens before returning to the playing field. Meanwhile, the 10k course extends further north past Boskensoe and Tregarne, providing runners with an additional challenge and more stunning views of North Helford’s countryside. A complimentary drink station awaits at Boskensoe for those tackling this longer distance.
For young participants, a fun run takes children on a short loop that includes the primary school before returning to Carwinion Playing Field through wooded lanes. All under-7s must be accompanied by an adult during their race day adventure.
Registration opens at 8:30 am sharp and closes promptly at 9:30 am for all distances, with start times scheduled for 10:00 am (for both the 5k and 10k races) and 10:05 am for the children’s fun run.
Post-race festivities include a licensed bar serving refreshments, barbecue food stalls, and even a cake stand to satisfy everyone's cravings. Entertainment such as live music performances, family-friendly games, raffles, massages, and various other activities ensure that there is something enjoyable for every member of the community.
All registered participants will receive a finisher’s medal along with a goody bag, while online entrants are guaranteed these items upon completion; those registering on-site may be subject to availability. Prize categories cater to different age groups across all race distances, encouraging friendly competition and recognition among runners.
