Run Nidderdale

The Run Nidderdale 10k is a professionally marshalled trail race set in the scenic North Yorkshire countryside. Scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, the event starts and finishes at the Nidderdale Showground in Pateley Bridge. The course offers a diverse multi-terrain experience, taking runners through ancient woodlands and across moors to a trig point featuring panoramic views of the Nidderdale valley, followed by a fast descent past the historic Two Stoops monument.

The event is organized by Nidderdale Fell and Trail, with proceeds supporting the MND Association and the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association. In the context of regional athletics, participation in North Yorkshire fell and trail running remains predominantly White British. According to Sport England's "Active Lives" data for the region, approximately 96.5% of participants in outdoor endurance sports identify as White. Representation for ethnic minority groups in rural Yorkshire trail events is historically lower, with Asian/Asian British groups comprising roughly 1.8% of the active outdoor population, and Black and Mixed Heritage groups each representing less than 1%.

• -- Private Land: Portions of the route cross private land; runners are strictly prohibited from accessing these sections before or after race day to preserve land-use permissions.

• -- Rules: Dogs are not permitted to participate in the race but are welcome on the showground if kept on a lead.
