Run Past Cancer 5k and Fun Run

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the Pine Creek Rail Trail near Wellsboro will come alive with the vibrant energy of runners and walkers as they join forces for the Run Past Cancer event. Organized by the American Cancer Society and Tioga Running Club, this community-driven initiative aims to raise funds and awareness in support of cancer patients within Tioga County.
Participants can choose between a 1-mile walk/run or a competitive 5K run along the scenic Pine Creek Rail Trail. The trailhead at Patterson Trailhead on Fellows Drive is where all activities will commence, offering runners stunning views and an enjoyable course through nature’s beauty. Registration for both events remains open until race day, with forms available in advance from Wild Asaph Outfitters located at 71 Main Street.
Registration fees are set to ensure maximum participation: $25 for the 5K run and a sliding scale of up to $30 per immediate family member for the 1-mile walk/run. The event promises an array of prizes, with participants encouraged to add their own flair by dressing in costumes. Categories include Best Dressed, Funniest, Scariest, Most Unusual, Cutest, Best Fictional Character, Best Group, and Coolest Celebrity, adding a playful twist to the serious cause.
The day kicks off at 8:30 AM with check-in for both events starting right on time at Patterson Trailhead. The races begin promptly at 9:00 AM, making it an early morning adventure filled with community spirit and camaraderie. All proceeds from this event will go directly toward supporting cancer patients in Tioga County.
