Nestled south of the bustling I-35 corridor, Lakeville's scenic trail system invites runners to explore its rolling terrain and lush surroundings. The race offers three distinct options: a compact yet challenging 5-mile loop, a slightly longer 10-mile course for those seeking more distance, and an intermediate 3-mile option that captures the essence of the trails without overwhelming new participants.
The route winds through wide non-technical paths dotted with rolling hills, rocky outcrops, and stretches of gravel road. While there are no single-track sections to navigate, the cross-country feel keeps runners engaged as they ascend a total elevation gain of 525 feet on the shorter loop. The terrain is forgiving enough for beginners but still provides plenty of opportunities for experienced trail runners to test their skills.
Adding to the excitement this year is an exclusive Canicross division, welcoming both human and canine athletes to tackle the challenging yet rewarding course together.
