About the Event

Every 40 seconds, someone becomes the victim of modern-day slavery.

There are more slaves in the world today than at any other point in history with an estimated 40 million in bondage across the globe. Men, women, and children are being exploited for manual and sexual labor against their will. Sex and labor trafficking have occurred throughout the Detroit metro area and continue today. With no safe haven, identity or money, they lack the hope that their circumstances will ever change. Will you fight for freedom with us and help change a life?

HOPE Against Trafficking is proud to announce our annual RUN TO SET THEM FREE 5K/ 10K Run and Kids Fun Run, Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Riverbends Park in Shelby Township, MI.

The proceeds from the Run to Set Them Free 5k/10K will go towards supporting survivors free from Human Trafficking. We can’t do this alone! We hope you will join us in our mission to empower survivors of Human Trafficking by participating in our RUN TO SET THEM FREE 5K/10K & Kids Fun Run or by becoming a precious race sponsor.
