🚀 Climbing Club Trip to Snowdonia!🧗♀️🌄
📍 Glan Dena hut, Ogwen Valley, Snowdonia
👉 https://themam.co.uk/index.php/huts/glan-dena-hut
From 28-31st August, we’re off to Snowdonia for a long weekend of climbing, hiking, and mountain adventures. We’ll be staying in a bunkhouse as usual—ideal for drying out, cooking up a big meal, and relaxing after a full day out.
Whether you’re keen to clip bolts, try a bit of trad, bouldering or head out hiking, Snowdonia has something for everyone. There are great crags nearby with routes for all levels, plus incredible walks if you’re after a more chilled day.
Evenings will be spent exactly how they should be—group dinners, and hanging out with good people. These trips are always a great mix of climbing and community.
🍽️ Bring your own food—we might organise a big group meal (TBC)!
Who’s in? 💪🍻⛰️
Please bring your own food and drink, sleeping bag.
People are free to spend the weekend however they would like!
ESC recommends only belaying with assisted breaking devices and carrying a personal first aid kit.
Also, there is a crag safety sheet which all club members should read before climbing on a club trip.
Costs
For insurance reasons, these trips are aimed at ESC members and for that reason, they will have been emailed a discount code. If you are not a member and try to use the code your ticket will be invalidated by us and give me a headache so please don't! The discount code only works for one person at a time so if you want to pay for multiple people with a code just buy one ticket at a time. If you joined after that email went round please message a committee member for the code.
If you're not a member of the club you count as a prospective member for insurance reasons (ie are covered) for the first three months since you first did a club activity. If you've been coming on club trips for longer than that you'll need to join up to come. The link for that is here: Entrycentral.com/esc
The breakdown of the costs is as follows:
3 nights : £70 for non-members; £60 for members
Code of Conduct
ESC reserves the right to remove anyone from a trip that is overly antisocial. Fights, abusive language, theft, inappropriate or aggressive behaviour and harassment will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to leave a trip by the committee should do so without disturbance and failure to do so may result in suspension from further trips. If you feel uncomfortable at any point during a trip please reach out to a committee member. Trips are a fun and safe space where everyone should be able to have a good time and feel comfortable. Good vibes only ✌️
Transport
Make sure you add yourself to the Facebook event page to arrange car sharing. Lifts can also be arranged on the trip WhatsApp group. If you're not on Facebook get in touch and I'll help sort you a lift. The process for car sharing is as follows; if you can offer a lift then post on the Facebook event where you live and how many spaces you have, if you want a lift comment underneath that person's post until the car is full. Costs are set by the driver and split between everyone in the car.
We do not have mountain qualifications, you are choosing to come of your own volition to be around peers.
Any questions PLEASE let us know
