RunFluent Christmas

The RunFluent Christmas returns to Lutz, Florida on December 12th with a variety of distance options for runners of all ages and skill levels. This event has been growing in popularity since its inception four years ago, becoming an anticipated part of the winter running calendar.
On race morning at around 7am, participants will gather along N Dale Mabry Highway in Lutz to start their journeys on a trail course that winds through local parks and green spaces. The atmosphere is typically festive with runners decked out in holiday-themed gear as they prepare for the day's competition under clear skies and mild temperatures.
The RunFluent Christmas has quickly become an important event within the community, not only celebrating the season but also supporting local causes and runners' traditions. Over 300 participants are expected to take part this year across various distance options designed for both solo competitors and relay teams. The race raises funds and awareness for a variety of initiatives in Lutz.
The course takes place entirely within designated trails, featuring mixed single track paths, dual tracks, and some grass fields. It is flat and fast with plenty of variation to keep runners engaged throughout the 4.45-mile route. Notable features include scenic views from elevated sections of the trail network that offer glimpses into Lutz's natural surroundings.
The start line will be located at N Dale Mabry Highway, where participants can expect clear directions for setup and instructions before taking off on their respective distances. The finish area is also conveniently situated near this point, allowing for a straightforward transition from running to celebration with family and friends in attendance. Aid stations are strategically placed along the course every two miles or so.
Weather conditions during December tend to be mild, with temperatures ranging between 40-58°F (4-14°C). The UV index is typically low at around 2.4, making it comfortable for outdoor activities without excessive sun exposure concerns. Humidity levels are moderate but do not significantly impact performance on the trail.
The RunFluent Christmas offers a range of distance options including an adult 4 miler and a half marathon among others. Each participant will receive a finisher "woodal" designed by Brie from Wicked Skins, with top three male and female winners receiving additional recognition along with awards for age group achievements in the longer distances.

The registration fees vary depending on the distance chosen: $35.00 for the adult 4 miler (6.4K), $20.00 for youth under 18 in a similar category, and $69.00 or $89.00/$139.00 respectively for half marathon soloists or relay teams. Bib pickup will be available at the starting location on race day from 5:30am to 7:00am, where participants can collect their packets and confirm any details about the event's start times. No prior pickup is required for this race as all necessary information is distributed directly before the run begins.
