The Nut Story 2026 is set to unfold at the Grand Séchoir Museum in Vinay on November 21 and 22, 2026. Organized by CMI-Vinay with municipal support, this event marks its eighth edition as a blend of sport and celebration, welcoming walkers, trail runners, and children into an inviting atmosphere centered around the region's rich nut heritage. On Saturday, November 21, participants can choose from two non-competitive walks: a scenic 14-kilometer route with approximately 500 meters of elevation gain or a shorter 9-kilometer walk offering about 300 meters in ascent. Both routes are suitable for those aged minime and up; minors must be accompanied by an adult, who can register them at any time between noon and one o'clock. The following day, Sunday, November 22, features three timed trail events: the "Nut Story" trail race covering a distance of 14 kilometers with around 500 meters in elevation gain; this event is open for both individual runners and duos. Additionally, there's the shorter but equally scenic "Vinoisette," at 9 kilometers with approximately 300 meters in ascent, designed to challenge runners while maintaining an enjoyable pace. The day also includes a fun race for children starting promptly at 10:05 AM. Registration is open online until November 20th at noon or on-site based on availability. Entry fees range from €2 for the kids' event up to €26 for duos, with a deposit system in place for reusable cups and bottles. The overall limit of participants stands at 500 runners who will enjoy course hydration stations, post-race refreshments, as well as awards presented to top finishers and most represented clubs. Packets can be picked up from the Grand Séchoir Museum on race day before each event's start time.
