Salt City Trail Racing is thrilled to welcome runners back for the reboot of the beloved Clark 6 Hour Classic, now expanded into both 6 and 12 hour options. This unique endurance challenge takes place within the serene confines of Baltimore Woods Nature Center, a newly acquired 90-acre preserve with well-groomed trails that offer a mix of rolling double tracks and winding single paths through open fields, forests, and around an old quarry. Participants will navigate a consistent 1.7-mile loop throughout their chosen duration, aiming to complete as many laps as possible within the allotted time frame. Whether you’re running non-stop for six or twelve hours or taking breaks whenever needed, your total mileage at the end of your selected period determines your final distance and ranking. The event promises an exhilarating atmosphere with a festive vibe that celebrates both achievement and camaraderie among Central New York’s trail-running community. Baltimore Woods Nature Center provides exceptional amenities to keep runners comfortable throughout their efforts. Spectators can cheer from Adirondack chairs on the porch overlooking the course, while aid stations offer essential supplies such as water, Skratch electrolyte drink mix, bananas, pickles, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, pretzels, Oreos, candy, and a selection of hot foods for 12-hour runners after 4 PM. The center’s lodge houses additional amenities like hot soup, bread, coffee, cider, cocoa, and other treats for all participants. All registrants receive a pair of coveted SCTR socks, while finishers are awarded limited edition race buffs. Top performers in each gender division across both event lengths earn exclusive winners beanies to wear with pride throughout the colder months ahead. Pacers are permitted during the second half of the 12-hour event but not for the shorter option. Each pacer must register separately and adhere to strict guidelines, including wearing a designated bib while accompanying runners on course. Organizers encourage donations towards Baltimore Woods Nature Center and Central New York Land Trust, with SCTR matching up to $500 in contributions. These organizations play vital roles in nature education and conservation efforts that benefit the trail-running community. For those needing flexibility or support, deferrals are available for pregnancy, injury, or volunteering at the race (if slots remain), while distance changes can be made until online registration closes. Partial refunds are also offered up to two weeks before the event date. Join Salt City Trail Racing on November 21, 2026, as we come together in celebration of endurance and community spirit amidst one of Central New York’s most picturesque settings.
