About the Event

The Santorini Experience combines trail running and open-water swimming against the island’s iconic volcanic backdrop. Runners can choose from 15 km, 10 km, or 5 km races, starting and finishing in Oia. The routes trace cliffside paths with sweeping views of the Caldera and pass through Imerovigli and Firostefani, blending athletic challenge with dramatic scenery. Swimmers take on a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) crossing from a volcanic islet to Fira’s old port, surrounded by the deep blue of the Aegean. Organized by the Municipality of Thira and ActiveMedia Group, the event unites amateur and professional athletes in a celebration of endurance and landscape. More than a race, it is an opportunity to experience the island’s natural beauty through sport.
