SATURN - The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run - North

Dive into the festive spirit with Saturn Running's Snow Globe Gallop, an enchanting 7-hour Time Challenge event set to take place on December 13th, 2026. This unique race offers runners of all abilities a chance to explore the picturesque trails along the River Wear in Durham and enjoy breathtaking views of the historic Cathedral.
The course is designed with inclusivity at its core, allowing participants to choose their distance based on personal preference or fitness level. The minimum requirement for completion is 3 kilometers, while more ambitious athletes can aim for half-marathon distances (13.1 miles), full marathons (26.2 miles), ultra runs of over 7 laps, and even the challenging 50km mark. Each lap covers either a stretch of approximately 4.37 miles or 7 kilometers, depending on course conditions.
The event's trail run route is fully signed to guide runners through its scenic beauty without requiring navigational skills. Whether you're looking for a leisurely stroll or an intense endurance challenge, the Snow Globe Gallop has something special waiting just for you.
Upon crossing the finish line after completing at least 3 kilometers, every participant will receive a themed medal and a festive bobble hat to commemorate their achievement. For those who push themselves further, distance pins are available for half-marathon distances or beyond. These include Half-Marathon, Mega-Half (a unique milestone), Marathon, 50km, and Ultra pins.
To keep you fueled throughout the event, Saturn Running provides an extensive aid table offering a variety of drinks and snacks, including vegan options to cater to all dietary preferences. At the finish line, runners can look forward to goody bags filled with treats that serve as well-deserved rewards for their efforts.
Race day facilities include toilets and changing areas at the race headquarters, along with secure bag storage near the start/finish area. Participants are reminded that while these amenities enhance convenience, they do not guarantee item safety; therefore, valuables should be carried on person or managed carefully by the runner themselves.
Free parking is available nearby in designated spots around Durham's city center and surrounding streets to accommodate race day traffic efficiently. Detailed instructions for the event will be sent via email a week before the run, ensuring all participants are well-prepared come Sunday morning at 9:30 AM sharp when the gallop officially begins from the Durham Amateur Rowing Club.
