Nestled in Borrowdale, often hailed as "the most beautiful valley in England," the Scafell Pike Trail Race offers runners an unparalleled experience on some of Britain's most stunning terrain. The race begins at Lingholm and concludes at Crow Park, Lake Road, Keswick, with a challenging course that includes ascents over Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England. While not exclusive to elite athletes, this event is best suited for those familiar with navigating rugged mountain trails. Participants must be prepared for both technical terrain and variable weather conditions throughout the year. The route starts off clearly marked but transitions into an unmarked section between Seathwaite, Styhead, Scafell Pike, Esk Hause, and back to Styhead before returning to Seathwaite where it rejoins a marked course leading to the finish line. To aid navigation through these challenging sections, runners are advised to carry navigational devices and download a route GPX file from our website. For those new to the area, using such tools is highly recommended for safety reasons. Participants should dress appropriately with suitable clothing and footwear, as well as bring enough nutrition and hydration for the entire course. At the end of your journey, you'll receive a bespoke medal commemorating your achievement. Additionally, event photographs will be available online afterward. Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in both male and female categories, alongside first-place winners in each age group category. For more detailed information about race day logistics, please visit our website at www.fellsideevents.co.uk. This licensed Trail Running Association event adheres strictly to UK Athletics rules and is open only to those aged 18 or older as of the race date. We look forward to welcoming you on this unforgettable adventure through Borrowdale's breathtaking landscapes. Join us for an exhilarating day in one of England’s most picturesque valleys, where every step reveals new wonders around each corner.
