Entry costs £19 per pupil with a strict one-hour window to complete the booking process once it begins. The deadline for amending rider details without charge is 6pm on September 9th. Schools are limited to four entries per race category, ensuring fair competition across all age groups and genders.
The event promises challenging yet manageable terrain: S1/2 and S3/4 races follow blue trails that any fit cyclist with intermediate skills can navigate comfortably. The more advanced S5/6 course includes sections of red-grade terrain featuring rocks and roots but remains rollable for the determined competitor.
Competitors will find a designated feed station along the route, allowing them to refuel during their race if needed. Grid positions are pre-drawn by the Race Director based on rider ability, ensuring an exciting start line-up at each event stage.
Comrie Croft offers extensive facilities including bike hire and repair services for those new to the course or requiring last-minute adjustments. The café serves hot drinks and food, though queues can be expected due to high demand. Water refill stations are clearly marked throughout the venue.
Race day timings accommodate three rounds of competition starting at 12:30 PM with all riders finishing by 2:30 PM for the first round. Subsequent races begin shortly after each completion until the final group crosses the finish line around 4:15 PM, ensuring a full afternoon of racing and camaraderie.
Safety is paramount; qualified coaches can ride alongside pupils during practice laps provided they present valid licensing documentation upon arrival. The course boasts robust medical coverage with well-signposted first aid facilities available throughout Comrie Croft.
