About the Event
Immerse yourself in the serene beauty and challenging terrain of Devilla Forest during the Scurry Around Devilla Forest trail running festival, set to take place in summer 2026. This annual celebration offers runners three distinct distances: a half marathon, a 10km race, and a family-friendly 5km route, each winding through the picturesque landscapes of this vast woodland. Devilla Forest, located north and east of Kincardine in Fife's southeast region, spans over 1900 acres. It is home to dense Scots Pine forests, four hidden lochs, and abundant wildlife such as red squirrels, creating a unique setting for trail runners. The event hub will be Tulliallan Police College within the grounds of historic Tulliallan Castle. The half marathon course presents a loop through varied terrain, including tarmac paths, grassy trails, and muddy sections, offering both scenic beauty and technical challenges. Runners can expect clear route markings and marshalling to guide them along the way. The 10km race follows similar routes but is slightly shorter in distance, while the 5km option provides a more accessible experience for runners of all levels. In addition to competitive races, families are invited to participate in the Tulliallan Castle Fun Run, a 1.5km course around the college grounds designed specifically for young participants. All proceeds from this event will benefit local charities and community groups supported by Scurry Events. Registration details vary with early bird discounts available until March 31st, followed by increasing entry fees leading up to June 1st. On-site registration is possible but at a higher cost. Event day activities include live race commentary provided by You Can Sport from the event hub and post-race refreshments courtesy of Active Root. Participants in all races will receive finisher medals and commemorative items, while children completing the fun run can look forward to their own medals and snacks upon finishing. The half marathon also features prize awards for top male and female runners as well as age category winners. Safety is a priority at Scurry Around Devilla Forest; routes are clearly marked with extensive signage and marshalling throughout. Runners should prepare themselves for uneven surfaces, including mud and grassy areas, but can rest assured that every effort will be made to ensure their safety during the event.
