Seaside Showdown Series: Mickeleens Path

The Seaside Showdown Series invites runners of all levels to explore the scenic trails along Newfoundland's coast. This series, comprising four distinct races throughout the year, aims to foster community engagement and provide an enriching race experience for both seasoned athletes and newcomers.
Each event takes place on a different trail, each with its unique charm and challenges. The first in the lineup is held at Witless Bay, where participants will navigate a 10km loop along Mickeleens Path. This route begins at the historic "Old Track" near the beach and seamlessly connects to the picturesque trails of Mickeleens Path. Racers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the course in advance by downloading the GPX file provided or joining the Strava Club for detailed maps.
Race day activities kick off early, with check-in available between 8:10 am and 8:30 am at the starting line on Mickeleens Path. Bib pick-up occurs during this period as well, ensuring a smooth start to your race morning. The event begins promptly at 9 am, allowing runners plenty of time to warm up before hitting the trails.
Volunteers are stationed along key points throughout the course to assist and guide participants but racers should be prepared with knowledge of the route since it is not flagged. This self-guided experience adds an element of adventure for those who enjoy navigating challenging terrain independently.
Participants can park at the nearby Witless Bay Seabird Ecological Reserve Tourist Information Centre, making carpooling or dropping off a convenient option to minimize traffic congestion around the start line.

Registration is non-transferable but can be moved between Seaside Showdown events if notified in advance. Should an unforeseen circumstance lead to a race cancellation, refunds less service fees or rollover registration options will be offered.
