Semi-Marathon de Budapest de Printemps (Telekom Vivicitta)
About the Event
Budapest's spring half marathon, affectionately known as Telekom Vivicitta, invites runners from around the world to experience one of Europe’s most enchanting cities. Nestled along the Danube River, Budapest offers mild and pleasant March weather, making it an ideal setting for a scenic run. This year marks the 41st edition of the event, featuring three races: a half marathon, a 7-kilometer race, and a 10-kilometer option. The half-marathon route is designed to be both challenging and rewarding, with runners having the option to participate in a relay format for those who prefer splitting the distance among two or three teammates. As you set off on your journey through Budapest, expect to encounter some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Starting along the Danube River, the course winds past the Hungarian Parliament Building, an architectural marvel that stands as one of Hungary's national symbols. The Chain Bridge, a striking suspension bridge connecting Buda and Pest, is another highlight of the route. As you continue your run, the Fisherman's Bastion offers breathtaking views over the city. The race not only celebrates Budapest’s rich history but also its vibrant culinary scene. After crossing the finish line, runners are invited to indulge in traditional Hungarian dishes such as goulash and lángos at various food stalls along the route or near popular finishing areas. For those looking for relaxation after their run, a visit to one of Budapest's renowned thermal baths is highly recommended. The Séchenyi Thermal Baths, Europe’s largest thermal complex, provide an excellent opportunity to unwind in natural hot springs while enjoying panoramic views of the city skyline. Whether you're running solo or with friends and family, this event offers an unforgettable blend of sport, culture, and relaxation that truly captures the essence of Budapest during its picturesque spring season. Budapest awaits your arrival – come ready to embrace a unique combination of history, beauty, and athletic challenge.
