On Sunday, October 4, 2026, runners will have the opportunity to participate in Sharpness 4, a unique road race that offers a fresh challenge with its four-mile course. This relatively new addition to Gloucestershire's AAA Road Race Series is designed for both seasoned racers and newcomers alike.
The race begins at the Sharpness Sports and Social Club, where participants can park their vehicles and use the facilities before lining up for the start. The event caters specifically to younger runners by offering a £5 discount on registration fees for those aged 15 to 19 as of race day. This initiative aims to encourage youth participation in competitive road racing.
The route itself is an undulating loop, primarily along quiet country lanes that wind through scenic countryside and alongside the picturesque docks at Sharpness. Runners will start with a short out-and-back section near the water before crossing the historic High Bridge into the village center. The course continues on a gentle anti-clockwise loop back towards the bridge, ending straight inside the club where all finishers are greeted with hot drinks and medals.

Race entries must be submitted through Entry Central before October 1st, with entrants required to provide relevant medical information on their entry form due to new regulations concerning emergency care provisions during events. Refunds are possible but will incur a nominal fee; however, place exchanges can occur without charge until the day of registration closure at 8 PM.
