Six Dales Circuit

The Biggin Village Hall Race, set to take place on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, invites runners and walkers alike for an unforgettable journey through the picturesque White Peak region. This challenging yet rewarding adventure spans a distance of 25 miles, weaving through some of Derbyshire's most stunning landscapes.
The race begins at Biggin Village Hall in SK17 0DL with staggered start times to accommodate both runners and walkers. Registration opens from 07:15 AM to 08:00 AM for participants who will then set off between 07:30 AM and 09:00 AM, depending on their pace.
The route takes competitors through a variety of terrain including Biggin Dale, Wolfscote Dale, Beresford Dale, Hartington (CP1), Monyash (CP2), Lathkill Dale, Bradford Dale, Middleton (CP3), Long Dale, and back to the finish line at Biggin Village Hall. Checkpoints are strategically placed along the route with specific opening and closing times: CP1 from 08:30 AM to 10:30 AM; CP2 from 10:00 AM to 14:00 PM, and CP3 from 11:00 AM to 15:30 PM. Walkers who arrive at CP3 after the designated time will be retired from the event.
All participants are required to adhere to a strict 10-hour time limit, with the final finish line closing at 6:00 PM. The race is designed for those seeking an immersive experience in nature while enjoying well-timed rest stops and scenic vistas along the way.
The entry fee includes comprehensive route descriptions, snacks and drinks provided at three checkpoints throughout the course, a hearty meal upon completion of your journey, and a commemorative certificate marking your achievement. Participants must be equipped with waterproof clothing, a detailed map (OL24), compass, whistle, torch, and mug to ensure they are prepared for any conditions.
Dogs are welcome on short leads but cannot enter village halls during the race. Owners must confirm that their pets have pet owner’s liability insurance and acknowledge responsibility for any damages caused by their animals. It's important to note that new livestock protection laws will be enforced in 2026, granting police wider powers and imposing unlimited fines for incidents involving livestock.
Registration is limited to just 200 entries due to the popularity of this event; it typically fills up well before the closing date. A waiting list system is available if you miss out on a spot. Should an unforeseen circumstance arise that requires cancellation, entrants can request a 60% refund by contacting the organiser via email at least two weeks prior to the race.
Participants are directed to use the provided car park free of charge and must not obstruct roadways or verges with parked vehicles during the event.
