Foster's Community Ride: Embrace the Terrain at Sloppy Jon’s 2026 Sloppy Jon’s, organized by It’s Just A Hill, is set to return with an enhanced community focus. This year marks a significant change as it transitions from starting and finishing in Jon’s house to the Woody Lowden Recreation Center in Foster, Rhode Island. The move aims to provide more space, better parking facilities, and ensure a smoother event experience for all participants while maintaining its hallmark of fostering community engagement. The ride is entirely free, making it accessible to everyone regardless of financial constraints. Registration is strictly limited to 150 riders to preserve the intimate atmosphere that has made Sloppy Jon’s so special over the years. Riders are encouraged to sign up only if they plan to attend; withdrawals will be considered for those on the waitlist who may need a spot. Five route options await, each offering diverse challenges and scenic views of Foster's terrain. Gravel routes will pass by the IJAH x NBX rest stop, where participants can refuel with hydration and snacks provided by these organizations. Some routes also include stops at classic local stores like Oneco Market for additional refreshments. This is a self-supported ride, emphasizing personal responsibility in navigation, nutrition, hydration, and mechanical support. However, convenience store stops are strategically placed along the routes to provide support when needed. Route changes can be made before the event if availability allows. While the focus remains on community involvement, it's important for participants to respect the Woody Lowden Recreation Center property and neighbors. Optional donations help cover costs associated with renting the race center, providing ride snacks, and managing logistics—yet everyone’s presence contributes significantly to making this a memorable experience. Post-ride festivities include a potluck gathering at the recreation center featuring signature Sloppy Joe sandwiches and dirt cups for dessert, offering an opportunity for riders to bond over shared experiences. Details such as exact routes, distances, and timing will be released closer to the event date via Strava and It’s Just A Hill's channels. Mark your calendars and prepare to embrace the terrain that makes Foster unique at Sloppy Jon’s 2026!
