On Sunday, November 8th, 2026, the Sodbury Slog returns to challenge runners with one of South Gloucestershire's most demanding races. This is no ordinary run; it’s an intense journey through rugged terrain that promises a true test for those who dare. The route stretches approximately 9.5 miles and takes competitors across various surfaces including tarmac roads, grassy fields, and muddy tracks. The landscape offers breathtaking views of the countryside but also presents numerous obstacles such as steep hills and unpredictable weather conditions. Expect it to be wet and muddy – this is not a race for those who mind getting dirty. The Sodbury Slog is designed with all levels in mind, whether you’re an experienced runner or looking for your first challenge beyond paved roads. The key to success lies in starting strong, staying focused, and preparing mentally for the physical demands ahead. With no water hazards but plenty of mud pits along the way, participants must be ready for a grueling yet rewarding experience. In celebration of Bitton Road Runners' 40th anniversary, this year’s Sodbury Slog features an exclusive t-shirt design honoring past iconic designs from previous events. T-shirts can be ordered through the official website to commemorate your participation in what is sure to be another memorable edition of the race. Please note that entrants must be at least 17 years old on race day and the course does not accommodate wheelchairs or running with buggies or dogs. Race entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, so prepare accordingly for this thrilling adventure through some of South Gloucestershire’s most stunning yet challenging terrain. The event concludes at 2:30 PM sharp, making the Sodbury Slog a race that demands both speed and endurance from its participants.
