Sounds of Silence SOS 5K & 10K 2027

Join runners and walkers from across the region for the Sounds of Silence 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run on Saturday, May 22, 2027. The race kicks off at 8 AM rain or shine along Walker Beach in Brightwaters Village.
This event is more than just a run; it's an opportunity to connect with the community while promoting mental health awareness. Participants can choose between walking and running routes that wind through scenic coastal paths offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Whether you're looking for a personal challenge, a chance to support important causes, or simply enjoy some fresh air and exercise, this event has something meaningful to offer.
The 10K race is exclusively for runners who will be treated with special perks like a finisher medal upon completion. For those opting for the walk option in either distance category, there's no need to feel left out as both activities are equally celebrated throughout the day.
Virtual participation options extend from May 22 through May 30 if you can't make it on race day but still want to contribute and be part of this impactful event. Early bib pickup is available for those who wish to collect their gear ahead of time, with designated hours set for Friday, May 21, between 2 PM and 6 PM at Walker Beach.
Parking will be managed efficiently by encouraging local residents to bike or walk to the event whenever possible. For visitors driving in from outside Brightwaters Village, please anticipate potential road closures along Montauk Highway as part of safety measures during race day operations.
In addition to the races themselves, participants can look forward to engaging activities such as raffle prizes, exclusive Sounds of Silence merchandise discounts for top fundraisers, kids' craft stations, and more. The first 350 registrants will also receive swag bags filled with goodies from sponsors and organizers alike.
