Spinifex Sheds Multisport Series

The Spinifex Sheds Multisport Series returns for the 2026/27 Triathlon Season with an array of challenging events designed to cater to athletes of all levels. The series kicks off on September 27, 2026, at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre with the JK Legal Armadale Duathlon.
The duathlon offers a blend of running and cycling, providing participants with a unique challenge that tests endurance and versatility. Competitors can choose from several categories tailored to their experience level:
- Sprint: A rigorous event featuring a 5km run, followed by an intense 19km cycle ride, concluding with another 2.5km run.
- Enticer: Ideal for those seeking a taste of the sport, this category includes a shorter but still demanding course: a 2.5km run, a 12.9km cycle, and finishing up with a 1.25km run.
- Mini: Perfect for young athletes aged ten years or older, this event comprises a 1km run, a 6.4km bike ride, and another kilometer on foot.
Following the duathlon is the Twilight Triathlon scheduled for November 14, 2026, also at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre. This evening race offers both Olympic and Sprint distances:
- Olympic Distance: For seasoned athletes looking to push their limits with a full-distance triathlon including a 1500m swim, followed by a challenging 38.5km cycle ride, and concluding with a grueling 9.3km run.
- Sprint Distance: Designed for those who prefer shorter distances but still want an intense workout, this event features a 750m swim, a 19km bike leg, and finishes with a 4.7km run.
The series continues into the new year with the Radar Accounting Armadale Triathlon on January 24, 2027. This race offers similar distances to the Twilight event but takes place during daylight hours:
- Sprint Distance: A shorter version of the Olympic distance for those who want a faster-paced experience.
- Enticer and Mini Distances: Tailored specifically for younger participants or beginners looking to ease into triathlon racing.
Rounding out the series is the Armadale Aquathlon on April 4, 2027, held at the Armadale Fitness & Aquatic Centre / Bob Blackburn Reserve. This event focuses solely on swimming and running:
- Sprint Distance: A fast-paced race including a run of 5km followed by a swim of 550m before another 4km run.
- Enticer and Mini Distances: These variations are designed for younger athletes or those new to aquathlons, providing shorter but still challenging distances.
Participants who register in advance for all four events will receive a special discount. Completing the series earns participants an exclusive medal at the Armadale Aquathlon event. Each race offers unique challenges and experiences, making this multisport season one not to be missed by any triathlete or duathlete enthusiast.
