Splash & Dash Beach Race 2026

Dive into the unique and refreshing Splash & Dash Beach Race at West Sands, St Andrews on Sunday, 26th July 2026. The race kicks off at 6:30 PM, offering runners an unforgettable evening experience along one of Scotland's most picturesque beaches.
The route is a two-lap course that stretches approximately four miles and winds through the firm compact sand of West Sands Beach, starting and finishing near the Life Guards Beach Hut. As you run alongside the stunning coastline, each lap culminates in a delightful dip into the cool waters for some refreshing relief. Be prepared to get thoroughly wet as you dive into the sea at the end of both laps!
Race HQ is located at the Beach Ranger's Office on West Sands Road, St Andrews from 5:30 PM onwards where runners can collect their race numbers and use the toilets before the event begins. Parking facilities are also available nearby with the postcode KY16 9XL for easy navigation.
All participants will receive a memento along with an official race medal upon completion of the course. Prizes await top performers across various categories, including first-place winners in overall male and female divisions as well as age-specific awards for over-40s, over-50s, over-60s, and over-70s.
Please note that no water will be provided by race organizers; participants are encouraged to bring their own hydration. There is also no official storage area for personal items during the event—runners should plan accordingly or leave belongings at home.

To ensure a smooth experience for all involved, it's crucial to adhere strictly to competition rules. This includes not running with another person’s bib number under any circumstances due to medical guidelines. Respect is expected towards fellow competitors, volunteers, officials, and the public throughout the event.
Entry fees are set at £11 per runner, but refunds or deferrals will not be issued once registration closes. However, transfers of race numbers can still take place up until 7 days prior to the event date if arranged directly between participants beforehand.
