Spunch! invites you to embark on an exhilarating mini-adventure that combines the thrill of running or walking with the fun of treasure hunting. This unique and colorful experience is designed for all ages and abilities, making it perfect whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting out. The event takes place in Bridgnorth at Bandon Arms on Mill Street (WV15 5AG), offering participants a range of course lengths from 2km to 22km. You can choose between three different durations: 60, 90, and 120 minutes, allowing you the flexibility to pick an option that suits your pace and preferences. Using the MapRun app on your smartphone or wearable device like a Garmin or Apple Watch, you'll navigate through a series of checkpoints known as SpunchPoints. These points are scattered throughout the area, inviting both locals and newcomers alike to explore new paths and uncover hidden gems in this familiar yet mysterious setting. The course itself is predominantly urban but includes a mix of surfaces from smooth tarmac roads to rugged off-road trails. While most areas will be dry, there’s always the possibility that some mud might make an appearance unexpectedly. Participants can start anytime between 5:30pm and 7:30pm on event day, with later starts reserved for longer courses. On-site registration begins at 5:30pm, where you’ll find everything from parking to food and drink within easy reach of the venue. The area is well-equipped with facilities such as toilets and a bag drop zone. For those planning to stay out past sunset (around 8:11pm), high-visibility clothing and torches are recommended for safety in low light conditions. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times. Whether you're joining solo, pairing up with friends, or forming larger groups, Spunch! offers plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself while enjoying the camaraderie among fellow adventurers. With over 60 checkpoints to discover and collect punches from, there’s no shortage of excitement waiting for you in Bridgnorth this summer. Come along and experience a day full of discovery, adventure, and fun – all set against the backdrop of one of England's charming towns!
