Spunch! invites adventure seekers to embark on an unforgettable mini-adventure through the enchanting Hollowford Centre, nestled within the heart of Castleton and Hope Valley’s stunning Peak District. This unique treasure hunt offers a blend of fun, friendliness, and safety for runners and walkers alike, catering to all ages and abilities without requiring any prior experience. Participants can choose from three course durations—60, 90, or 120 minutes—and distances ranging from 2 kilometers to an adventurous 22 kilometers. The event takes place in the late afternoon and early evening hours, allowing runners to visit as many checkpoints as possible within their chosen timeframe using the MapRun app on smartphones, Garmin devices, or Apple Watches. The Hollowford Centre provides a warm welcome with its indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring comfort whether the weather is sunny or overcast. The venue offers a selection of drinks and food for participants to enjoy during breaks in the action. Additionally, there's ample space for children and dogs (on leashes) to join in on the fun. Registration opens at 5pm, with start times ranging from then until 7:30 pm, allowing flexibility based on individual schedules. The last starting times are set at 7:15 pm for the 90-minute course and 6:45 pm for the 120-minute adventure to ensure all participants complete their courses before darkness falls. With over 60 SpunchPoints scattered across the scenic landscape, each checkpoint presents a unique challenge or discovery. The event is designed for solo runners, pairs, and groups of three or more, with organizers often pairing up newcomers on-site if desired. This ensures that everyone has an engaging experience whether they're new to the sport or seasoned veterans. The Hollowford Centre's convenient location makes it easily accessible from nearby towns such as Buxton, Whaley, Disley, New Mills, Glossop, Hayfield, Hathersage, and Bakewell. Free parking is available on-site for all participants. This Spunch event promises a day filled with breathtaking views of the Peak District's rolling hills and lush countryside paths. While much of the route remains off-road, offering both challenging climbs and easier terrain options, there’s no guarantee that visitors will escape encountering some mud along their journey. Join us at Hollowford Centre for an evening where adventure meets community spirit in a picturesque setting. We look forward to welcoming you on what promises to be an exciting night under the summer sky. The event takes place at the Hollowford Centre, Castleton, Hope Valley S33 8WB.
