Spunch! is an innovative, family-friendly mini-adventure that transforms the town of Disley into a giant treasure hunt map filled with vibrant checkpoints and festive cheer. Whether you're running or walking, this unique experience offers something for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.
Participants can choose from three course durations—60 minutes, 90 minutes, and two hours—to explore Disley's best Christmas lights and scenic routes at their own pace. The event starts from the charming Dandy Cock Pub in collaboration with local running enthusiasts, Disley Runners, making it a perfect spot for newcomers to connect with friendly locals.
Using your smartphone or wearable device through MapRun technology, you'll navigate over 80 SpunchPoints scattered across both urban and green spaces. From bustling Market Street to quiet residential areas adorned with twinkling lights, the course offers diverse terrain including tarmac roads and off-road trails. With its mix of elevation changes and varied landscapes, even seasoned locals might discover hidden paths and charming spots they've never seen before.
Join solo or team up with friends and family for a fun-filled evening where everyone is welcome—dogs included but must be kept on a lead at all times. On-site registration opens at 5:30 PM, allowing you to start anytime between then and 7:30 PM according to your chosen duration.
The event features comprehensive support services like parking, bag drop facilities, restrooms, refreshments, and results available right in the heart of Disley's vibrant community.
