Columbus, Georgia. Standing Boy Trails. The Standing Boy Trail Festival returns September 18‑20, 2026. Choose Friday Night Vertical 5K (8:00 PM, 400 ft gain, headlamp required), Saturday 10‑mile race (7:30 AM), Sunday 50K (7:30 AM, 3 loops of the 10‑mile course), or the Canicross 10‑miler (run with your dog, starts 5 minutes after the 10‑mile race). Location — Standing Boy Trails, Columbus, GA:

• Standing Boy Trails is a trail system located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, near Columbus, Georgia (about 1.5 hours south of Atlanta, 30 minutes north of Auburn, AL)
• The trail design is "second to no other" — flowing, smooth single‑track that whips around the side of the Chattahoochee
• Courses are challenging, fast, and beautiful — a mix of climbs, descents, and riverside running

Course — 10‑Mile Loop (50K does 3 loops):

• First 5‑mile loop: Strava route available
• Second 5‑mile loop: Strava route available
• Terrain: flowing single‑track, some climbs, riverside views
• Fully stocked aid station at start/finish area
• Runners can set up drop bags at start/finish for the 50K

Friday Night Vertical 5K — Night Run, Headlamp Required:

• Out‑and‑back up and down the mountain
• Approximately 400 ft elevation gain
• Headlamp or light is REQUIRED
• Unique swag: small insulated cooler for all 5K participants

Canicross — Run with Your Dog (10 Miles):

• Starts 5 minutes after the 10‑mile race (Saturday)
• Start on the opposing loop to avoid trail congestion
• Dogs must be well‑behaved, on a leash, and under control at all times
• Check specific Canicross rules with race director

Western States Raffle — Qualify for 2027 Western States 100 Entry:

• Finish the Bootlegger 100 AND the Standing Boy 50K
• You will be entered into a raffle for a 2027 Western States 100 entry
• Only finishers of both events are eligible

Swag — Unique Per Race:

• Friday Night Vertical 5K — small insulated cooler
• Saturday 10‑miler — beach towel
• Sunday 50K — t‑shirt
• Each participant receives a unique medal for completing each race

Run All Three — 20% Discount:

Parking — Limited Capacity, Pay Ahead:

• Parking is tight — limited number of entrants
• Everyone must pay ahead of time to park (unless you already have a year pass — this is NOT a state park, so separate parking fee)
• Carpool strongly recommended

Time Limits — 50K: 9.5 hours (5:00 PM finish), 10‑miler: 3.5 hours:

• 50K cutoff: 9.5 hours (approx 19 min/mile pace)
• 10‑mile cutoff: 3.5 hours (21 min/mile pace) — generous, includes walkers
• Vertical 5K cutoff not specified — likely 1.5‑2 hours

Refund Policy — 100% Refund Until 3 Months Before Race:

• 100% refund available until 3 months before the race date (approximately June 18, 2026)
• After that, no refunds

Logistics — No Dogs (except Canicross), Headlamp Required for Night Race:

• Headlamp required for Friday Night Vertical 5K — no exceptions
• Dogs allowed only in Canicross race (not in other races)
• Strollers not permitted on single‑track
