Sternsteintrail - Winterchallenge 2026/27

Step out of your wintertime hibernation and into an adventure with the Sternsteintrail Winterchallenge, set to take place between December and February. This event is designed to motivate you to embrace winter's chill through active outdoor pursuits at your own pace.
Choose Your Challenge:
The Winterchallenge offers two distinct routes tailored for different levels of endurance:
Hero (35.5 km):
Experience a challenging yet rewarding journey from Linz to Bad Leonfelden, perfect for those looking for an invigorating adventure in the winter landscape.
XTREME (46 km):
For those who crave more, this route includes all elements of the Hero challenge plus an additional descent from the Waldschenke to Bad Leonfelden. It's the ultimate test for seasoned adventurers seeking a greater challenge amidst breathtaking scenery and varied terrain.
Both routes culminate at Leonfeldner Hof in Bad Leonfelden, where participants can enjoy post-race amenities and celebrate their achievements with fellow runners.
Community Walk/Run on Saturday, January 9, 2027:
Join the Community Walk/Run to experience the trail as part of a group. Enjoy support services including backpack transportation and hydration stations along the way. This event is open to all registered participants looking for an extra boost from their community's energy.
