Stomp Out the Stigma 5K Run/Walk

The Stomp Out the Stigma 5K Run/Walk returns to Kendallville, Indiana on September 12th. The event is held at Northeastern Center’s New Hope Clubhouse in Kendallville and serves adults from surrounding counties including DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble, and Steuben.
Race morning will find runners starting their journey along the well-maintained trails of the center's grounds. The atmosphere is one of community support and solidarity as participants gear up for a five-kilometer course that winds through the scenic landscape. With the sun shining bright on race day, expect temperatures to hover around 19 degrees Celsius with some humidity in the air, making it feel comfortable yet slightly warm.
This year marks the event's 14th edition and has grown significantly over the years, attracting hundreds of participants who aim to raise awareness for mental health issues while supporting New Hope Clubhouse. The funds raised go towards educational programs, social outings, and other initiatives that help members regain dignity and hope in their lives. Stomp Out the Stigma is more than just a race; it's an annual tradition that strengthens community bonds.
The 5K Individual run offers runners a chance to participate alone or as part of a team with three or more registrants. The course venue features firm but slightly soft trails, providing a smooth yet challenging experience for all participants. Notable route features include the scenic pathways surrounding the clubhouse and the slight elevation changes that add variety to the journey.
