Stone Everest ATL

The Stone Everest ATL returns to Stone Mountain in Georgia on November 7th, challenging participants with an arduous climb that mimics the elevation gain of Mount Everest over two days. This event takes place at Stone Mountain Park and is a unique opportunity for endurance athletes to test their limits against one of nature's most formidable challenges.
On race morning, runners will gather before dawn on November 7th in anticipation of ascending Stone Mountain multiple times throughout the day until midnight. The mountain offers an ever-changing landscape with its granite dome trails stretching across the park’s iconic peak. As participants climb and descend, they'll encounter natural rock formations, open skies, and sweeping vistas that provide both physical challenge and visual reward.
The event has a rich history of drawing local and national attention for its commitment to pushing athletes beyond their comfort zones while raising awareness for various causes related to endurance sports and community health initiatives. Participants range from seasoned ultrarunners looking for a new personal milestone to those who simply want to take on the challenge as part of an organized group effort.
The course at Stone Mountain follows the Walk-Up Trail, which is approximately one mile long with an elevation gain of 825 feet per ascent and descent. This trail provides varied terrain that includes gentle inclines early in the route before transitioning into sections of smooth rock faces higher up on the mountain. Aid stations are strategically placed to support participants throughout their climbs: a main station at the base offering snacks, electrolyte mixes, fruit, sandwiches, chips, gels, and energy gummies; another volunteer at the summit ensuring lap completion is marked accurately.
