Stook 10 Mile, 10k & 5k Fun Run 2026

Experience one of Kilkenny's most scenic running routes on November 15, 2026. The race features a challenging yet rewarding 10-mile course that winds through picturesque valleys and countryside before climbing up to the summit of Stook Hill. Here, runners are treated to breathtaking views as they prepare for the thrilling descent known as "The Stook Flying Mile," where participants speed downhill towards the finish line.
In addition to its stunning scenery, this race is renowned for its unique finisher's cowbell, a cherished keepsake that celebrates Ireland’s rich agricultural heritage and has become highly sought after among runners. The 10km option includes all the excitement of the full course but focuses on the final leg up Stook Hill and back down to the finish line.
For those looking for a shorter distance, there's also a scenic 5k loop around the village, perfect for families and beginners alike. Race t-shirts are available for the first 250 entries, while all participants completing either the 10-mile or 10km race receive a commemorative cowbell.
Refreshments will be provided at the finish area to help runners celebrate their achievement after crossing the line. Don't miss out on this unforgettable running experience in Kilkenny!
