August 23, 2026 marks the return of an exciting Stand Up Paddle (SUP) tour along the picturesque waterways of Strasbourg and Schiltigheim. Participants will embark on a scenic journey covering approximately 14 kilometers through two stunning rivers: the Ill and the Aar.
The adventure begins at ASCPA, located in the Plaine des Bouchers area, with paddlers setting off from there towards the idyllic Parc de l'Aar in Schiltigheim around mid-morning. The route offers a mix of urban landscapes and natural beauty as participants navigate through these tranquil waterways.
A welcome break is scheduled at approximately 12:30 PM when competitors can enjoy lunch provided by race organizers within the serene confines of the Parc de l'Aar, offering both relaxation and picturesque views. After recharging their energy, paddlers will continue along the river until they reach the finish line back at ASCPA around 4:00 PM.
This year's theme encourages participants to bring their favorite buoyancy aid or paddle board accessory that will accompany them throughout the race, adding a personal touch to an already engaging experience. The event is open to individuals aged 13 and above but does not cater specifically for beginners; some prior paddling skills are recommended.
Paddlers can look forward to a unique blend of scenic beauty, historical charm, and recreational fun as they glide across the Ill and Aar rivers on this memorable day in Strasbourg.
