Strides for Stroke

The Strides for Stroke 5K and Kids Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026. Hosted at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, NC, this event serves as a major fundraiser for the Cabarrus Stroke Support Group, one of the largest support organizations for stroke survivors and their families in the state. The race is a key component of the Run Kannapolis Race Series, emphasizing the critical message that a stroke occurs every 40 seconds in the United States and can affect anyone at any time.

Participation and Logistics

The race village at 150 North Research Campus Drive will feature coffee trucks and various local vendors. Participants are encouraged to form teams to honor specific survivors. Early packet pickup is available on Friday, March 27, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Academy Sports (2211 Elder Lane), with race-day pickup opening at 7:00 AM. The event is inclusive of all ages, with 14 competitive age categories ranging from "9 & Under" to "70+". As part of the Run Kannapolis series, participants who register for all eight series races by March 28th are eligible for a 25% discount.

Registration Deadlines

Online registration is open through race day, Saturday, March 28, 2026. However, the deadline to be guaranteed an event T-shirt was March 10th. All proceeds directly benefit the Cabarrus Stroke Support Group’s mission to provide resources and community for local survivors.
