Summer Summits is an invitation to join the Everyday Ultra community for an epic group run that celebrates camaraderie and endurance without the pressure of competition or awards. On Saturday, August 29, runners gather at Piestewa Peak Trailhead just before dawn to tackle a grueling yet rewarding challenge. The event kicks off at 5:00 AM with participants setting out on repeat laps up and down Piestewa Peak for six hours straight. Each lap covers approximately 2.18 miles, including around 1,045 feet of elevation gain. Runners have the flexibility to set their own goals—whether that means completing a single loop or pushing through multiple ascents. The trailhead transforms into a hub of activity as runners cycle back and forth with support from Joe Corcione and other Everyday Ultra coaches who join in on the laps, creating an inclusive atmosphere where everyone can push themselves alongside like-minded individuals. Refreshments are provided at the start/finish point to keep energy levels high throughout the session. Participants will also have a chance to win some impressive prizes simply by showing up and putting in effort: a spot with Everyday Ultra's coaching team or entry into Desert Peak Ultra, one of their premium desert events. To prepare for this endeavor, runners are advised to bring essentials such as headlamps (for early morning visibility), hydration systems, trail shoes suited for rugged terrain, sun protection, extra fuel sources like snacks and gels, and a sense of adventure. The event is entirely free, making it accessible to all who wish to test their limits in the company of fellow enthusiasts. This isn't just any run; it's an opportunity to experience the spirit of community while pushing physical boundaries on one of Phoenix’s iconic peaks. Join us for Summer Summits and become a part of something truly special.
