Swim&Run 2026 is set to take place on August 30, 2026, in Winnweiler. Online registration opens on July 10 and closes at 6:00 PM on August 26; however, late entries will still be accepted on the day of the event. Participants are assigned a start number that also serves as their starting time—such as participant 1021 who begins at 10:21 AM. Detailed information about race distances and categories can be found on the Verbandsgemeinde Winnweiler website, including both individual and team options for longer (5.5 kilometers) and shorter (1.1 kilometer) courses. The event caters to all ages with a special category designed for younger participants who wish to compete as part of a family or friend group in the shorter distance race. For those looking for an extra challenge, there's also a "What more can you do?" section where competitors aged 40 and over are invited to push their limits. On arrival at Winnweiler’s swimming pool complex, participants should make sure they register early enough before their designated start time. The warm-up session in the main pool ends around 9:45 AM; afterward, swimmers will have access only to a non-swimmer area for warming up. Swimming rules dictate that all competitors must adhere strictly to "keep left" regulations while inside the water and ensure safe passage when overtaking other participants. Once out of the pool, athletes transition through a designated changing zone where they collect their running gear before heading onto the streets for the run portion of the event. For this segment, standard traffic rules apply—running on the right side of the road. The course leads runners from Winnweiler’s swimming facility towards Leithöfe and back again with two turnaround points at 500 meters and 1250 meters respectively. Long-distance participants will complete these loops twice over before crossing the finish line to a cheering crowd, receiving a commemorative medal, and enjoying refreshments. First-time swimmers are assured of an unforgettable experience as they join this unique event in Germany’s picturesque countryside setting. Feedback from previous editions has been overwhelmingly positive with many returning annually after gaining more confidence through practice runs or past performances. In case of adverse weather conditions such as thunderstorms on the day, refunds will be directed towards charitable causes instead of being returned to participants. Organizers encourage athletes and their families to spread awareness about Swim&Run 2026 within local communities leading up to race day. Special thanks go out to VPV Schleppe (Winnweiler) for its continued sponsorship support. This event promises a blend of athletic challenge, scenic beauty, and community spirit that makes it one not to be missed by any endurance enthusiast in the region or beyond.
