The format is designed for both solo competitors and relay teams (of up to six members), offering a blend of swimming, cycling, and running that tests your endurance and strategic thinking. Participants will navigate through four hours of open-water swimming from 12 PM to 4 PM, tackling seven laps around the picturesque Weiswampach lake, each lap covering 700 meters.
As night falls, cyclists take over for a grueling yet rewarding 15-kilometer loop that must be completed in just under twelve hours. The route is largely flat but punctuated with small climbs totaling 190 meters of elevation gain. This segment not only challenges physical stamina but also strategic planning as teams navigate the changing conditions and adjust their pace accordingly.
The final leg sees runners hit the trails for eight hours, from midnight to noon, completing a scenic 4.5-kilometer loop that winds through both forest paths and rural roads with minimal elevation changes. This last stretch is where many will find themselves truly testing their mental fortitude alongside physical prowess.
Throughout the event, participants are treated to an array of amenities at base camp, including hot meals, chill-out zones, showers, music, and even a chance for some much-needed rest between efforts.
