Taipei Marathon

The Taipei Marathon stands as one of Asia's premier running events, renowned for its exceptional organization and competitive field. With an entry limit of 9,000 runners for the full marathon, this race attracts a diverse group of athletes each year, reflecting both local talent and international prowess.
Over recent years, the performance levels have soared dramatically. In 2021, 272 participants completed the course in under three hours, while an impressive 2,692 runners finished within four hours. The following year saw these numbers increase to 417 sub-3-hour finishers and 3,749 under-four-hour completions. This upward trajectory continued into 2023 with even more remarkable figures: 439 athletes broke the three-hour mark and a stunning 4,135 crossed it within four hours—nearly half of all participants.
The half marathon category has also seen significant improvements in performance metrics. In just two years, the number of runners completing the race under 100 minutes grew from 581 to an impressive 979 by 2023.
These achievements are a testament not only to Taipei’s vibrant and resilient running community but also to the event's ongoing enhancements in various aspects. The course itself has been fine-tuned for optimal performance, with better traffic management ensuring smoother race day logistics. On-course support continues to improve, providing runners with everything they need throughout their journey.
