The TBF Mountain Bike Clinic is designed for riders of all skill levels, offering both beginner-friendly Level 1 sessions and more advanced Level 2 workshops. This comprehensive clinic includes professional coaching from experienced mountain bike instructors, focused drills to enhance your skills, a dirt-crit practice race, and a fun group trail ride at Granite Beach. At the Level 1 Clinic, participants will learn essential equipment setup and maintenance tips, as well as crucial skills such as gear selection, cadence control, shifting techniques, balance, starts and stops, cornering on various surfaces, and emergency maneuvers. The day also includes practical sessions to refine your bike position, body movement, pedal technique, grip pressure, and vision. Moving up a notch, the Level 2 Clinic builds upon these basics by delving into more advanced topics like terrain reading, line selection for optimal speed control, passing techniques with verbal communication, climbing and descending strategies, obstacle clearance, sand riding, and jumping. The day is filled with opportunities to explore diverse trail conditions, including granite boulders, jumps, rock gardens, and other challenging terrains. Throughout the clinic days, participants will enjoy Clif Bar snacks and FLUID fuel supplies during breaks, ensuring they stay energized throughout their training sessions. Each clinic concludes with a coached ride on local trails at Granite Beach, providing an excellent opportunity to practice newly acquired skills in real-world conditions. The schedule for both clinics begins at 9:00 AM with welcoming remarks from the coaches and introductions. This is followed by discussions on equipment selection, safety guidelines, and maintenance tips until 9:30 AM when warm-up laps commence. The rest of the morning focuses on drills and skills training, interspersed with short breaks for refreshments and questions.
