Team Gina 5k

Join us on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Jason Dwelley Park - Lakeside in Apopka, Florida for the annual Team Gina McReynolds Foundation 5K. This year's race offers a unique twist as it coincides with Halloween, inviting participants to don their favorite costumes and join in a festive run or walk that supports an important cause.
Participants who choose to wear costumes will have the opportunity to be entered into a special prize drawing. Costumes should adhere to family-friendly guidelines, ensuring they do not obstruct vision or create tripping hazards for runners and walkers alike. Safety is paramount as we celebrate this holiday while raising funds for local families battling breast cancer through The Gina McReynolds Foundation.
Since its inception in 2012 as a single benefit golf tournament, the foundation has grown to raise over $1 million to support young families facing breast cancer diagnoses. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, it provides crucial financial aid and counseling services while honoring Gina McReynolds' legacy of compassion and dedication.
The race begins at 7:30 am with an out-and-back course through scenic Jason Dwelley Park - Lakeside. Registration costs $35 per participant, which includes a commemorative medal for all finishers. Those who register by October 9, 2026, will also receive a Team Gina McReynolds Foundation race T-shirt.
Packet pickup is available on Friday, October 30 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and again on the morning of the event starting at 6:30 am until 7:15 am near the start line.
For safety reasons, pets are not allowed except for service animals. Bicycles, roller-skates/blades, skateboards, and strollers must be used responsibly; stroller users will start behind all walkers.
Awards will be given to top overall male and female finishers along with age group ribbons in 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+ categories. Team awards are also presented for the largest team and top fundraising effort.
